The Accuflex A15-DHG50 is a 6-foot insulated corrugated drain hose, 1/2 inch diameter, the right format for draft beer system condensate drains and refrigerator condenser pan plumbing. The insulation matters because in any application where the drain hose runs through ambient air carrying cold water, the hose surface will sweat - and that condensation will drip onto whatever sits below it, usually a finished floor or interior wall.

Why Insulated Over Standard Drain Hose

Standard PVC drain hose works for under-sink applications where ambient temperature matches drain temperature. For draft beer cooling installations where cold glycol condensate exits at 30-40 F into a 70 F ambient, the temperature differential causes the hose surface to sweat for the entire run. Insulated hose eliminates the sweat and prevents the floor damage that follows.

Sizing

1/2 inch is the standard for low-flow condensate drains (draft systems, ice machines, refrigerators). For higher-flow drains (commercial dishwashers, glycol tank overflows), step up to 3/4 inch or larger. 6 feet is appropriate for most cabinet-to-drain runs; for longer routes, multiple sections can be joined with standard barbed couplers.

Install

Connect via barbed fittings (not included). Route the hose with continuous downward slope to ensure gravity drainage. Avoid sharp bends that can crimp the corrugation and restrict flow.
